Problem installing UniqueInstance package

Hey There!

I downloaded the UniqueInstance package and, after adding it to my IDE and "installing" it, I cant get it to work. It's supposed to add a new component under the System tab but it doesn't add anything. I tried opening the provided example project but it says that it cannot find the component TUniqueInstance (of course, it's not part of the IDE). I've tried uninstalling it, re-installing it to no avail. Is there any explanation as to why it's so hard to add  a simple package to my Lazarus IDE?

I tried installing it using lazbuild to no avail.. Any help? Or are there any other alternatives for limiting the instances to only 1.

From where did you installed UniqueInstance? I just tested Unique Instance 1.0 under Windows/Laz 1.7/FPC 3.0.0rc2, it works without problems.

Im using Lazarus IDE 1.4, maybe i should upgrade to version 1.7? Im going to try that.

I downloaded the latest version from the lazarus page (It's 1.4.4, i had 1.4.2, couldn't find 1.7). It's giving me this error when i try to install the UniqueInstance package:

lazarus.pp(1,1) Fatal: Can't find uniqueinstance_package used by Lazarus, ppu incompatible=D:\Downloads\uniqueinstance-1.0\lib\i386-win32-win32\uniqueinstance_package.ppu, package uniqueinstance_package

P.S: I'm using Windows 7

Oh well. I downloaded the latest IDE version from the lazarus webpage. Uninstalled the old one and did a clean install. Used SAME method i used for installing the package before and it compiled and rebuild and it's finally there! Thanks God!!
