Why compile both trunks?  Because it's there.   :-[  Actually, you are correct that only one should be trunk for testing purposes.  If something were to go wrong or incorrectly, it'd be a lot easier to suspect the trunk and look for answers than to look at both of them.  As for that guide, it should state that one needs to specifically tell Tortoise installer to put command line tools in for those who are using tpcup.  Also, I had been tired and just plain didn't see the guide. :-[

I want to thank you Cyrax and JuhaManninen for your replies.

You mean the Getting_Lazarus guide?
No, it should not state that! Fpcup is NOT needed for getting Lazarus trunk. That was kind of a major point in my last reply. TortoiseSVN GUI without a cmd line svn is enough.
I am always amazed how people can turn a simple thing into a complicated thing. Magic!
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

The .lds files are a historical remain. They contain part of a desktop but not all of it. I am planning to remove the feature completely unless someone finds a valid use case for it. Now it mostly confuses people.

Then be prepared to have periods with failed compilations. It's less frustrating if you combine Lazarus trunk with FPC last stable with fixes.
ct2laz - Conversion between Lazarus and CodeTyphon
bithelpers - Bit manipulation for standard types
pasettimino - Siemens S7 PLC lib
