any plans to implement retrieving source in a stream or stringlist?

I like the way synapse handles the source of http pages retrieved......any thoughts on possible implementation in the coming version/s?

Thanks, and BTW it's a great library but I still find that part difficult to deal with...

Yes, work on "stream-enabled" components has basicly started.

If everything goes well they will be out with next release (0.4.1)

It'll be a set of separate components (descendents). Currently it's in the "design" stage.

Alright, status update: I got sidetracked so to speak. We had to do some cleanups in API as well so next one is 0.5.0. It's based of Lazarus 0.9.22 (because of some fixes in it) so I had to wait. I'm trying to apply some last minute patches I got regarding HTTP and release it.

Sadly the streaming didn't get in yet. The good news is that we fixed loads of little ugly bugs, like UDP failure with Listen/Connect combo, and some windows "blocks" problems with menus or dialogs in Lazarus.

So while it's a 0.4->0.5 transition the major change is because of some (not so bit) API change.

Added was WinCE support but it's beta since FPC itself doesn't support it in stable yet.

I got sidetracked this week by some school surprises but we SHOULD release it this week. The streaming stuff was not implemented because of lack of time and some conflicts regarding design decisions IIRC.

From  HTTP author :)
<neli> set method to hmPost
<neli> then provide data in OnCanSend
<neli> you can set the number of bytes you are going to write in the header
<neli> hmm wait it's another event I think

The event is probably OnAccess :)
