If you are a Windows user, maybe try the Lightweight LCL.

Main advantage:
It runs ANSI, so Windows API calls are easier.

(Remember full LCL is UTF8, which is difficult)

First disadvantage who uses ansi api calls now-a-days. LCL is UTF8 its just awesome. what is difficult in LCL
