When it will leave the new version?
« on: July 31, 2006, 10:06:09 pm »
The publisher of the Lazarus is not accepting accented characters. I am waiting the new version.

It will be that it goes to delay very still?  :?

Yes, just noticed that, and removed his signature.

There is probably a good sociological explanation as to why so many people here in Brazil are unpolite (to say the least).

Really? It has worked perfectly on Windows for years, but it doesn´t work on my linux.

You can write characters like: Á ã à é ê ô ?

What is the LANG environmental variable of your Linux? What are your keyboard settings?

Using GTK2 (utf8) and Windows works perfectly.

For Gtk1, I launch lazarus with:

Code: [Select]
export LANG=es_ES.iso-8859-1; ./startlazarus

Under GTK1 it works fine for the form designer and properties editor; this is the 90% of the strings I must type (widget properties.. caption.. text).

In the code editor, of course it doesn't allow to type the accents, á is replaced by 'a  so what I do is insert it, copy/paste it or use an external editor to change the used strings (this is very little effort).

Note:I use Arch Linux

Instead of "Java-Como Programar 4ª Edição" you must read "Stop being a jerk and start being friendly 1st edition"

You blame on us because your own ignorance to do what you need. You are mixing apples and pears, java has nothing to do with Freepascal/Lazarus, it's different (I don't say Java is bad or good). I develop using many languages and RADs, Java with netbeans/eclipse  too and I can't see Lazarus is a shit as you say.

I'm not FreePascal/Lazarus developer (I use it for my own projects), but I'm developer at other open source projects, keep in mind nodoby pays us for our work, we do it at spare time.

To end, glad to know you are leaving, I don't like to see guys like you here.

Note: not all the lazarus users are from USA as you guess...

I think that we should start a newspaper project. I begin with the following 1st short article (I always wanted to be a journalist and/or reporter!!!)

Disclamer: this post is for fun only and doesn't intend to offend nobody!

Al-Lazaria: the ultimate independent broadcast channel

X resource to destabilize international community equilibrium
by Pepecito, Lazarus land, 1st september 2006, 09:45 AM CET

Recent fact in the land of Lazarus shows once again how a resource can cause conflicts and destabilize an area, may it be because of the need of that resource, or may it be, as most international experts agree, because it is used as a pretext for other more complex intentions.
A resource, in this case X, can be both the target or the excuse.

We leave to readers any interpretation. We will only report the chronology of the events with some experts comments:

Jul 31, 2006 - 10:06 PM (local time)
    Robson-PB: "
I need X. When will it be available?"
sekel: "
Nobody knows"
Robson-PB: "
That's all? Thanks"
, or maybe "tanks" which some experts interpretate as "May I send you some Panzers or Shermans to help you develop?"

... 3 weeks after...

    Robson-PB: "
Is finally X available? It's taking too much! Looks like this project is frozen!"
, experts say, in accordance with psicologists, that this can be interpreted as "I knew that X couldn't be available in such short time, while most people is doing holidays. I gave you 3 weeks time just to keep international community the impression that I'm a good guy, but in the meantime my tanks reached your borderline..."
    sekel: "
We are free. We would like you to join us. We know that this project is not perfect. You could help us and make it better."
, the diplomacy efforts here are necessary, but maybe it's to late.
Someone now note some strange tanks movements and ask what is happening:
    Vincent: "
I don't understand what is happening here!"
Robson-PB: "
I don't mind how you are, I don't want to help you, I just what X now and for free!"
The international community attention is now focused on these facts and begun to advise Robson-PB to act in a more proper way:
[moderator]: "Change your way to act and respect the others, or we will take actions agaist you"
After that the internation community start to discuss about X and the project.
Fortunatelly, the Robson-PB attempt failed, but he still keeps tanks at the borderline:
      Robson-PB: "
I'm still here! Even if you don't gave me X, I will find it elsewhere! You are meaningless!!!"
Some report Robson-PB to say "I'll be back... I'll be back..." when logged-out... but this is an unofficial info!

Such facts always rise a question: "May resources cause wars in the future?"
