Of course we are an alternative to the programming schools. If someone wants to learn programming in Lazarus without a school, we are here to help.

here's an example of how a question I consider as "want to learn" :) ... but we'll see how it goes

Rest assured skalogryz, no student will get anything from me bar breadcrumbs, if they follow them there could be cake but they'll have to show there worth first.

And you never know those bairns could be the next gen of Lazarus developers.

EDIT: Good example BTW. Graphics was never my strong point, but PI was... Point them toward that ;)

Please don't consider my words as criticism of your actions and intention to help.

Yes, surely we are investing in the future of Lazarus responding to these apparently primitive questions.

None taken, and I also respect your point of view

And we have to consider also the answerers side. These questions are challenges for the community, maintain the solidarity spirit and is a good exercise.

And for the questioners, in few words, if you download Lazarus and come to this forum even knowing nothing about programming, certainly you will learn it.

Maybe the questioners would help answerers to respond well to their questions if they inform so:

1) I am a beginner, know nothing about programming and want to learn here.
2) I am an experient programmer, but know nothing about Pascal.
3) I am a Pascal student with a homework.
4) I need a specialized answer.
5) I need a solution to a problem. I am not a programmer.

The OP has gone, probably the deadline has passed. In my campus, there's a demo session with student's assistant in order to prove that you are the one who really writes the homework/assignment, at the very least you must understand what you submit. Failing to do so ends in 0 for the respective homework/assignment and a "yellow card". Another copy-paste effort and you have final score of E ("red card"), which is the lowest one and in case of compulsory subject, you have to take it again next semester or next year, depending on whether the subject opens up or not next semester.

I stop acting as a teacher/assistant, as most of these students don't really want to learn and understand. They just want to get their homework done and goodbye, without thinking what will happen to their future if they keep doing this way. So when the trade idea comes from skalogryz, I agreed right away. It could control my blood pressure and at the same time adds donation to Lazarus (if I get one).
