error while linking lazarus
« on: May 31, 2006, 03:34:26 pm »
SuSE 10.0, Lazarus 0.9.13-20060315

I had Lazarus up and running and now wanted to install ZeosDBO packages. All went well, but after rebuilding the stayed in the state "install after next start", even after rebuilding again.
Now I read here that it would work if you install and rebuild as root.
I tried that but since then I got the error message:
"/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lqt4intf" and make is exiting.
The linker seems to look for qt4intf, which doesn't exist and I think has never existed. Any ideas what that could be?

Thank you,
Rüdiger

Found it, it was a line in link.res. I removed it (well, nothing to lose), it linked. But when I start lazarus, an error appears thata a package is missing (belonging to SQLDB) and the KDE gets stuck. Obviously, I am missing something...
Maybe a fresh install would be better.

Me again. The second thread about not seeing the newly installed components gave me more luck: I found a lazarus executable in ~./lazarus/bin working well and showing the new components. Maybe I can work on with this one.
