Is it possible to run Lazarus Free Pascal in an old Mac laptop with OS 9.2?

Out of the box: no.
Rough status:
- older (2.2.x era) FPC have run on classic Mac OS.
- Lazarus supports Carbon which is a cleaned up classic Mac OS api.
but the combination FPC+Lazarus/carbon in practice never really ran on classic Mac OS.

Actually, I have it running on 9.7
FPC 2.6.0 and a current Lazarus (with minor modifications to keep it running with 2.6.0)

What is Mac OS 9.7? AFAIK the last version of classic Mac OS was 9.2.2.

I don't know. I don't normally use Mac.
It says 9.7.0 when I do "uname -a"

You use Darwin 9.7.0. This is Mac OS X 10.5.7, not Mac OS 9.
