So either 1 or 2 should be fixed:
a remove the Daily Snapshots link
b get the snapshot process going again

Yes, it should be fixed. I have nothing against it but I cannot do it myself. I don't even know who are the people with enough rights for that server.

Where do we can contact people, who can resolve it, please?

I spoke to the person who maintains the snapshot building. Unfortunately he has currently not the time to look after them.

So for the foreseeable future there will be no snapshots provided. I removed the link.

I understand that some people might be willing to help. The task however requires direct access to our servers, which is something that can only be granted to people who have earned that level of trust (usually that is long time team members).

Don't think anyone needs daily snapshots. But maybe once a month?!

I'm building 32 and 64, Windows, 2.7.1 and could upload them to someplace, if needed.. In Lazarus tools folder is create_installer.bat, but so far unable to make it work.

I think it would be very interesting to have an updated fied about 2 days snapshots.
All versions both 32 and 64.

I think it's better for people to learn how to use svn (or git if you want to use the git mirror) and build lazarus and freepascal from source. A lot of benefits from understanding the source management and build process. Less bandwidth traffic, too.

Leledumbo, I suspect elidorio will keep repeating his request...

He probably cannot accept that - while people agree that providing snapshots would be a good thing - everybody who is involved here is doing this on a volunteer basis and there isn't enough time for people to reinstate the snapshot process - so it just will not happen.

He just wants his snapshots and is not interested in using fpcup, svn or any other means of getting a new Lazarus, despite repeated posts urging him to use svn instead.

Just my appraisal; glad to be proven wrong.

Edit: mmm, I'm at least already partly proven wrong: a bug report shows Edson has tested a bug with FPC 2.6.5 so obviously he has taken the trouble of getting that. ]Sorry about that, Edson, I was a bit too pessimistic!

Hope that I will be proven wrong about my other suspicion as well...

It's incredible! You will not have access to the server? Blow up the thing and established a new one! What a project? The current 2.6 snapshot is running every day. Where are the problems?

@stocki: I'd suggest you set up your own service providing snapshots that everybody can use.

Please refrain from insulting remarks towards volunteers who give freely of their time and start contributing yourself.

I agree with this, it's super easy to grab the source via SVN and just build the trunk version, especially on Linux.
If your on any version of Ubuntu or Mint all you have to do is download the FPC binary and source debs and install the 1.2 lazarus deb (this will pull in all the deps you need)
Then just make sure you install the build essentials package and you should be good to go.

If I forget, I always use the latest stable 32bit version of Lazarus and FPC. At the time of this signature that is Laz 3.0RC2 and FPC 3.2.2

Hello,

No.   I strongly recommend you look at fpcup.  I've been on holiday for the past 5 weeks.  Got back in last night.  Double clicked on the fpcup shortcut on my desktop.  That was my only interaction with the process.  Instant "snapshot".
Lazarus Trunk/FPC latest fixes on Windows 11
I'm getting old and stale.  Slowly getting used to git, I'll get there...

No.   I strongly recommend you look at fpcup.
That would be nice if we didn't get a "Oops, you've found a dead link." on the download of fpcup.exe for Windows.

Or do we need to build that one ourselves %)
