I can't make heads or tails of that web page.   What exactly is Xero Coder?  No screen shots or product description that I could see on the page.

If I forget, I always use the latest stable 32bit version of Lazarus and FPC. At the time of this signature that is Laz 3.0RC2 and FPC 3.2.2
OS: Windows 10 64 bit

Googling brings some links to youtube educational videos (such as how-to make an Android app).

To make a long story short - it's an IDE.

I guess it's written using LCL and Lazarus (otherwise why would it be on the forum?), but it allows usage of any programming language.

As I could see on youtube's tutorials, the IDE uses pascal, so i concluded that they posted on this forum in hope to catch buyers here, because all members of this forum are Pascal programmers. In my point of view, this is a free-software site not free-advertising, you can't advertise commercial software here which at a same time is competition to Lazarus ! Can Lazarus be advertised on their site ? For free ?
At least they could contribute with fragments of useful code or write few pages of documentation instead.

Yes, you could mention Lazarus IDE on their site and do some comparison, in the style like "oh Lazarus has this and that, it would be nice to have it in Xero Coder 4, too". Also, it's hard to call Lazarus "promotion" an advertising (in commercial terms).

I think the right question should be :

why would I buy an expensive chair when I can sit on a magnificent Sofa ?
an expensive xerox chair and a magnificent free Lazarus Sofa, for example...  >:D

just... WHY ?....... hehehehe

Seriously, their advertising is totally misplaced here; in all ways you can think about.

Lots of critics here, for a minute I thought I am in Cannes. Its not an advertisement, just a info post.

1. Its a showcase, a proud one, about Lazarus
2. XERO CODER (XPower++) has a long history and is a Grid computing solution.

But if this info post is annoying (can't see why) then I wont post anymore.

BTW: here is more info just in case someone is interested http://xhelp.xerocoder.com/

By the way, our contribution to the Lazarus project is maybe not as per code but we recommend it strongly in our business relations/projects and I can honestly say that we have converted a lot of businesses from Delphi to Lazarus. For such campaign we use XERO CODER as an example that Lazarus is mature and can be used for professional development.

Lets look at the facts, Lazarus is ripe, but the world does not know it, companies like us are the pioneers who let the world know, hey look here we have something serious written with Lazarus.

But of course, you need to get the point.

@sam707
for the same reason you would choose .NET over Lazarus.

.NET ?? oh yeah that gas factory faking an interpreter and a compiler all in one... lemme laugh a lil bit more then if your 'expensive' tool looks alike  :D++

P.S. : ever heard about swiss knifes ? neither good knifes neither good to open a bottle but pretending doing all these stuffs and more hahahah.

Anyway, I'm good at choosing my tools, I don't need any advertising... and most of the clever peeps around the world are like me.

I might change my mind if i would know that you give a good percentage to Laz community (because I plan to do it when the actual project im working on will be ready), but until that, your posts are commercial and misplaced YEP !

It is too easy to take works from the others, make money and just say "Hello I made a tool with yer help and your years of work, thank you and buy it"... to me, there is an underlaying crook comportment in that !!!

Naturally, everyone is opinion free... that was mine, straight in my boots !

totally disrespectful and misplaced...

Thousand times more people use .net then FPC/Lazarus. What do you think, is it because the first is thousand times better then the second or... or advertising has its part, actually?

It's a showcase of what can be written in Lazarus, placed in third party announcement subforum, so it's perfectly fit here.

Actually, with the licenses LCL is protected with, there's no obligation to do that. There are companies out there which uses Lazarus/Free Pascal to build their products, but mention none of Lazarus/Free Pascal anywhere. And it's not a problem. However, any changes to LCL, must be published. And they may not use ANY part of the IDE (say the object inspector source code), unless the software is licensed under GPL as well.

I'm not here to defend Xero Coder or something, I don't buy it as well (I don't have any grid computing needs ATM), but it's a very good product written in Lazarus, and it has commercial support. Their employers need to get paid, so they definitely need to find customers. Being a Lazarus product, they're allowed to announce Xero Coder here. It's up to people whether to buy it or not.

Take work from others and make money? Made a tool with whom's help? How is that? AND you call us crooks. I feel insulted by this post.

That's what I meant with long history. XERO CODER was first written with Delphi 2009, but Anil our founder, made a drastic decision and started to write everything from scratch with Lazarus in 2011, huge gamble for a fresh starting company if you ask me, and the biggest problem at that time was to convince people (narrow 707 minded), even his own developers to believe that the Lazarus way was a correct path since we always wanted to support the Grid Computing as cross-platform solution not as windows only.

Just for your info, XERO does not use the FPC compiler, XERO has none of the Lazarus IDE parts, we have created a new grid compiler and IDE and we use the Lazarus/FPC to build our technology. We are not like CodeThyphon which is a copy/fork of Lazarus for example (lots of innovation) which sam707 prefers looking at his signature.

However, after this insulting post, dunno what to say actually anymore.

@Leledumbo
Thx Leledumbo for making it clear that we do no harm BTW.
