gtk+-devel don't exist in SuSE 10.0
« on: April 15, 2006, 02:14:27 am »
Hi,

I download this files:
fpc-2.0.2-0.i586.rpm
fpc-src-2.0.2-0.i386.rpm
lazarus-0.9.14-1.i386.rpm

I install with no problem the FPC files, but when I try install lazarus, I receive a alert shown "gtk+-devel is needed".

BUT gtk+-devel is installed!

SuSE remove the character "+" from this file:
gtk+-devel is same as gtk-devel.

I had installed:
glib
gtk
gtk-devel
gtk2
gtk2-devel

What can I do to install lazarus?

Regards,
Renato S. Yamane

Hi,

The answer is already on the forum.

See question and answer " Problem installing on SUSE 10 " author Bart.

Forcing installation with rpm --nodeps ... works.

I have don'it with KPackage, unticking  the dependency check.

Be sure all others dependencies are ok.

If you ar using apt4rpm you will get problems with the upgrades (when you install with  --nodeps)
use then rpm -e --justdb lazarus (remove lazarus only from the rpm database)
apt4rpm is then working nice
