I am using lazarus win32 with Wine on my linux. It works well, except that the compiler fails to execute the program directly after build, but everything works well.

So this is my way I use lazarus. It works well for me, and I can develop and build native win32 applications directly in my Ubuntu Linux enviroment.

Don't say that I not should use wine+lazarus win32 version, even if other peoples prefer to use the native builds. Wine makes win32 apps platform-independent.

It seems to be the best way for my programming in Lazarus.

PS: I again, have compiled a win32 executable with the win32 lazarus version with wine! I added a manifest to the file, and it worked well under Windows XP.

I's sad, but is easier to install, on a linux machine, the lazarus for win32.

since you cant run and therefore cant debug / step / break points etc. I see little point. beyond hello world.

basically you're using lazarus as a syntax aware editor.

wine is a long, long , long way from an accurate emulation of win32 so any run on wine is of little relevance as a test bed.

Apart from that delphi/laz is a nice editor and if, like me, you are familiar with it , it can be a good tool.

I used it to edit the C source for some patches I submitted for gtk2 filechooser.
