Hooking OpenAI (advanced use)?
« on: January 04, 2023, 04:39:54 pm »
Having played around with OpenAI, setting up some small interaction programs, I would like to take better advantage of this.

The first possibility is with Copilot. Copilot works with VSCode (VSCodium), but how to get Lazarus level functionality into VSCode is a problem. There is this project https://github.com/genericptr/pasls-vscode, but don't know if this is the best route. It would also be interesting to see if we can't figure out how to hook Copilot directly into Lazarus for those of us who would like that (optional use of course).

I would also like to hook the OpenAI engine into projects like geogebra, umbrello, LibreOffice, etc. so that use could be more natural, but that will require some more knowledge about access to the engine.

In interviews with OpenAI scientists and the CEO, there seems to be a genuine interest in helping open source projects. We just need to get the right people talking to see how this can happen.

Please add your ideas on a path forward to make better use of OpenAI.
