Downloaded and installed fine over the older version (Win Vista 32 bit) but when I try to compile anything an error message appears that the unit Interfaces can't be found.

floris, don't install over an older version. If you do, go to the environment options and use the correct paths for lazarus directory, compiler path and fpc source path (version 2.6.0).

Good news!
And even better news is Lazarus/Win32 working from proper binary directory! And under non-privileged user it works too!
Yet, there is defect left from the dark ages: gdb path is hardcoded to installer and point to whatever thought to be default installation dir.

I Wish to exist more Entreprise Use of Lazarus, to more implementation, and better UI like Visual Studio or recent versions of Delphi. also Crossplatform Skinning Components

Following the instructions at http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Lazarus_release_version_for_Ubuntu, I can't get Lazarus to install on Ubuntu 10.4 (Lucid) from the repository (http://www.hu.freepascal.org/lazarus/ lazarus-stable universe). apt-get  gives me no "Failed to fetch" messages, so I assume I have everything that's there.

apt-get install lazarus aborts with the message
lazarus: Depends: lazarus-0.9.30.4 (= 0.9.30.4-0) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

Any ideas?

Just like Delphi you need a package for each version + OS.

This problem is not so visible in Delphi (till recently) since there were 10 versions and only one OS.

But for FPC and Lazarus there are much more versions and much more OSes and architectures.
