Looking for library, + how to use it.
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:10:44 pm »
I made a simple pascal program which is basically a search engine for array of a program. I would like to make it look nicer, I don't like that DOS window.
I would like to ask for your oppinion, what is the best library for me at this point?

Also, I would like to ask you how to use that library, step by step. I don't understand how to include them. I tried to use zenGL library, followed instruction, yet it didn't work. I haven't included any libraries at all, so I am green at this.

Thanks.

You do not say how you want to dress up your application.

If you just want to get rid of the DOS interface and want a windowed application, just use Lazarus, no need for any library.

If you want to add graphics there are quite a few around.  I regularly use BGRABitmap.  Search on that word on this forum and you will find lots of references to it.

There is a tutorial:  http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/BGRABitmap_tutorial
