No Colours

Setting the color attribute on forms edit boxes etc. has no effect when Lazarus runs under Fedora Core 4. OK on Windows though. Anyone any ideas

I suppose that may be due to GTK limitations. Have a look at the Roadmap (http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Roadmap&file=index), especially the sections concerning GTK and fonts.
