[Solved] Lazarus 0.9.30.2 / Mac OS X 10.4 installation problem

Unfortunately, Lazarus 0.9.30.2 cannot be installed on Mac OS X 10.4.

Every attempt ends with the message "You cannot continue. There is nothing to install."

I have installed FPC, FPC for XCode, and FPC Sources in this sequence before trying to install Lazarus. Results were the same on two different eMacs, both equipped with Mac OS X 10.4.11.

if you have no problem with the fpc and fpc-source packages, why dont you use the svn installation.
Then use the classic "make clean all" way to compile the lazarus.

Although I am experienced with SVN in general, I am not sure about the organisation of the repository for Lazarus. Which path do I have to check out? "/tags/lazarus_0_9_30_2/ide"?

So this would then be expected, since I think the release is only for intel Mac and indeed as IndianaJones mentioned the answer is that the user should use svn and build his own Lazarus.

IIRC, there is a powerpc download too.

For Mac OS X 10.4 - Powerpc, you can still go the fink route. Setting it up, will take quite some time, but it give you lazarus with carbon and gtk2.

I think it is a problem with the installer. Lazarus 0.9.30.2 is easily installed on a G5 Mac (also a PPC machine) with Mac OS X 10.5, however installation fails on a G4 Mac with Mac OS 10.4. This problem didn't exist with Lazarus 0.9.30.2RC2.

The issue seems to be solved with the installer of the new version 0.9.30.4RC1. Thank you for your suggestions and for your efforts.
