Reworked German translation of the Lazarus IDE
« on: July 18, 2011, 09:06:28 pm »
In the past I've translated some of the wiki pages into german. But every now and then I was annoyed by the missing translations in the Lazarus IDE. Some untranslated strings, some typos plus some errors in the used translations.

So I started my little project of doing a complete (and hopefully better) translation a few days ago. Today I've finished it.

I used "poedit.exe" (so everything should be correct) for translation of the "lazaruside.de.po" file (btw. it is from trunk), and this is what it told me
before: 92% translated, 4187 strings (101 fuzzy, ..., 114 not translated)
now:    98% translated, 4187 strings (49 fuzzy, ..., 14 not translated)

But can anybody, please, tell me the best or easiest way to transmit this file to the developers? By now I've zipped and attached it to this post.

Thank you.

Firs thanks for translate and fix typo in most of my wiki articles.

The best way is to put the file in the bugtracker as patch.

The way you can update the .po file is downloading the latest svn, replacing the lazaruside.de.po file with your .po file. Then rebuild lazarus, the .po file will be updated.

Thank you very much for your help.

I posted an issue in the bugtracker and it seems that it has worked.

Now I'm trying to get familiar with SVN and TortoiseSVN. Don't know if it is of much use for me, since I'm not working on any program at the moment. My main interest is to improve the german translations in the wiki.
