Lazarus 0.9.30 on Debian Sid(testing)
« on: April 12, 2011, 11:51:17 pm »
Hello,

It's just to say, i just installed Lazarus 0.9.30 from Deb files on my Debian Sid,
i'm really impressed by the speed of compilation of my projects, it's about 4 times faster than on Linux Mint and Ubuntu (my old linux distros).

Has anyone else notice that speed? and does anyone have any explanation? :)

Best regards,
Fabien Wang

Probably in Mint and Ubuntu you were using a heavy window manager which consumed a lot of RAM, so there was little RAM for the compiler, assembler and linker. In Debian with a lighter window manager there would be more RAM available. Just a guess.
