SpeedButton and Toolbar GTK theme
« on: February 07, 2011, 11:38:35 pm »
Hi,

Is it normal that lazarus speedbuttons/toolbar themes looks different from others application using GTK theme? Looks at attachments. There is comparison between lazarus app and geany. Lazarus highlight is barely visible (this is one of defaults ubuntu gnome themes). Should I report this?

Regards.

No problem here.
Is this for all button/image sizes and themes on your system?

Only with speedbutton/toolbutton. Others (TBitBtn, TButton) looks more native (have this orange border and gradient) but they don't have "Flat" property

No, I meant the standard size of TToolbar Buttons and the standard size of TImageList items (16x16).

Iow: The Lazarus IDE uses toolbars too, do they look wrong on your system?

I have no problem with sizing, I just created a quicky example with random size :P . Look at mouse point. When I move mouse at flat button then it doesn't have this orange highlight which is on second image (this is toolbar from geany editor - most toolbars on GTK applications looks like that). This is only cosmetic problem, but lazarus toolbar stands out in this case (looks like not native).

I don't know.
Is it the same with other themes?
If you like you can create a bug report.
You should probably add your GTK2 Version.
Enter this on a shell:
pkg-config --modversion gtk+-2.0
