An Question (.NET 4, Lazarus/FPC, Crossplatform Installer)
« on: April 27, 2011, 12:01:26 am »
Sorry but my Lazarus Project the native crossplatform installer are in inactive development because i'm develop with a 14 members of a team a video game using UDK (Unreal Development Kit1), maybe release an beta release.

I See various commercial installers with a incredible look thanks the Microsoft Drug (.NET), i want attract users or enterprises to use my project, many enterprises uses this technology, i decided develop another platform: .NET 4-3.5 and special IDE using Visual C++ 2010 Express, for another platforms the IDE are developed with Lazarus.

The installers and compiler be created with Lazarus/FPC, for the .NET platforms in Visual C++.

Another thing. in my country the .NET are most used in the enterprises.

1. Unreal Development Kit an free version of Unreal Engine : http://www.udk.com

Use Visual C++ 2010 for my Installer IDE in Windows instead of Lazarus?

Installer IDE?
i thought your installer would be cross-platform. You still can use mono on linux, but....what a shame.
If you think users comes when it's beautiful, you're totally wrong, they come when something is useful and works great.
+ with the brgacontrols coming on Lazarus 0.9.31, you'd be able to create skins for installer. But you are free to choose.
I'm using Arch Linux.
