How are we going to help Lazarus to be famous in the public?

I've been in different bidding sites, and no Lazarus was specified.
Anyway bidding sites are pathetic, bids are very low, can't even pay your bills with 1 rate.

I think we can present Lazarus to the public after version 1 released. because most companies, and educational fields may require using only version 1 and above, like the company that I'm working on it.

Before version 1 release we can do things like:

1. writing applications with Lazarus
2. writing components for Lazarus
3. helping people in Lazarus forum
4. reporting bugs

To be franked, I liked Lazarus than Delphi, when it comes to database development.

I can create any connection using sQLdB, in Delphi that is dBexpress.

I think by developing softwares from Lazarus, then put a Lazarus Logo on the form and enable them to see that the software was made from Lazarus.

how about an (automatic) about form or template you can add to your program that comes with a "created with Lazarus" note some where?

Just a common way. If you'd like to put in mainform no problem as long as your clients are fine with it (mine dislikes that, I don't know what's in their head).

   I think it's too aggressive. Everybody will see it and a few would really like to know that (IT worker). For the rest is useless. It is better in the about box and the software web page rather than inside the main form.
   Furthermore we can have an easter egg in the about form with the FreePascal and Lazarus developers like Delphi does.

At the moment I'm using Lazarus to develop systems for the manipulation of large genome datasets ( > 5G fields) and the analysis of them. As far as I am concerned it was a godsend. I will be reporting Lazarus in the papers I write and conferences I attend. However I've always found it an uphill struggle. Delphi/Lazarus is to C++ what Linux is to Microsoft. Preaching to the believers of a false God is always very difficult!

I think the best way is to introduce it through existing networks. Delphi groups, OOPS Groups etc. Get the word out there and hopefully the momentum will build.
