Is it possible to change keyborad input language programmatcally ?

Hi all !!!

I`m  using Linux + GTK2 based Lazarus. So,  now I have to implement  a such feature - user selects a  keyboard input language( english, russian, italian etc) using combo box and the keyboard input language in a memo control changes appropriately. Is it possible ?  Sorry for my english ....
