How to create crossplatform self-extracting executables?

Hello. I want how to create cross platform self-extracting execuables andthat can be run and compiled on any platform. I heard about a component called ExeMod for Delphi is easy to port but I think it only supports the Portable Executable Format of Windows executables, not really if this or another of this.

Hmm, maybe TResourceStream + http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Zlibar ?
