The best way is probably by searching the existing bug reports and then sending us patches which fix them: http://bugs.freepascal.org/view_all_bug_page.php

You can search for bugs in your favorite programming areas.

If you have no idea what to fix, I and other developers can point you to some easy to fix bugs. What are your favorite programming areas? Which operating systems do you use?
