problems with lazarus on ubuntu 10.04

(I am new to linux, don't be mad if I don't know something) I have installed everything from synaptic manager and ran lazarus and then trying to run ( F9 ) any program and nothing happens just says 'project succesfully built '. On XP a window always poped out and nothing here just says on top of program (debugging) what ever that means..Anyone know what to do ?

That happens when you create a totally new project in Ubuntu or just with the project you tested on Windows?

Only on ubuntu this problems happens

Yes, but was that a project you created on Ubuntu or on Windows? Did you notice the unexpected behaviour right after you created the project on Ubuntu, or after copying your project from Windows to Ubuntu?

well on ubuntu.. I tried to create a simple program with fpc on lazarus like on this video

I did everything and says program finished but I can't see window that should pop out with my text


Edit: Environment ->Options ( maybe here something wrong? )

Compiler path
/usr/bin/fpc

FPC source directory
/usr/share/fpcsrc/$(FPCVER)/

I think its problems with compiler..

How did you install Lazarus/FPC?

some I wrote apt-get or something and some from synaptic manager

Open Synaptic, uninstall all lazarus*, fpc* and fp-* packages. Delete the .lazarus folder in your home directory (notice the dot in front of the name) and file /etc/fpc.cfg (as superuser). Reboot. Then install the lazarus metapackage using Synaptic. Make sure your system is up to date. Reboot. Try building your project again.

I wrote sudo su and became superuser but still I can't delete lazarus folder and fpc.cfg in /etc..

Btw, maybe I should install lazarus and fpc on ubuntu software center or synaptic?
