Title: [SOLVED] SVN: Hint/tooltip - Form loses focus on showing hint?
Post by: Hansaplast on January 04, 2020, 05:19:02 pm

With one or the other recent change, showing a hint/tooltip seem to make it that the form temporary loses focus (when hovering over a control that has hint enabled).
I assume this is done to see more customizable info in the IDE or something like that, but in applications this gives undesired results/behavior.

I started noticing this in SVN r62473 and just tested r62489, which shows this as well.

Is this something others experience as well?
Am I the only one thinking this is not the usual hint?

Other macOS applications that show hints/tooltips do not lose focus, the guideline (https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines/macos/user-interaction/help/) even shows the form not losing focus (see screenshot there).
And finally, hints/tooltips under Windows and Linux do not behave like that either.

(bug (https://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=36516) has been reported - just thought I'd post it here as well, in case someone is running into this as well)

Solved by Dmitry in SVN 62500.
Thanks Dmitry for the quick fix! Excellent work as usual!  :)
