Title: Zeos/MySql without libraries
Post by: chrnobel on January 26, 2007, 12:26:23 pm

I have a project, in which I use Zeos for connecting to my MySql database.

This works quite good, but the binary (just a console application) grows from approx 1M to 6M when I add the z components needed (after stripping approx 0,4M vs 2M).

I can live with binaries in the size of 2M, but my expectation was that using Zeos I could avoid installing the MySql libraries, but this is not the case, they are still required.

In Delphi when using eg. MyDAC it is possible to make a 100% native application without any requirements for extra libraries, so is there something I have misunderstood with regards to Zeos, or is there another way to do it.

I do only need components with these funtionalities:
SQL connection
SQL query
SQL dataset
