Title: How to request help
Post by: Mike.Cornflake on April 10, 2016, 01:00:55 pm
Moderators, please feel free to delete this post if it's inappropriate

This post is for a couple of reasons.  Mainly I want to be able to reference back when I encounter a post where the original poster, with all the best intentions in the world, is not helping those who are trying to help them.

Everything I want to say has already been said, and much better, by others.  So, I'll let them say it.

Topic title says it all on this one :-)

If you have a bug, either in your code, or you think in the LCL, then read the following

Personally, I think the above post is so important, I re-read it myself every year or so.

The following was written specfically for reporting a bug in the LCL, but the ideas in here very easily abstract out to any bug report

Many thanks

Mike

Deliberately not adding this to the main post as I don't think this forum currently suffers from this issue, but it has from time to time, and will again, so I'm getting this here ready :-)

Please don't be a Forum Vampire :-)  That is, don't be someone who sucks the life out of those who only want to help
