Title: Size of string fields in TDbf Database files

When I use the Tdbf Database system in Delpi (7) is is possible to create a table with string field of allmost unlimited size (More then 255 characters), In Lazarus its not possible to do that...???

What is changed..?? Why is that..? Its 1 of the benefits of this database system....
