Title: Reterminal running FPC+Lazarus.
Post by: DonAlfredo on July 08, 2022, 03:08:33 pm
FYI.
The photos show fpcupdeluxe and FPC/Lazarus running out-of-the-box on reTerminal (32bit).
A very powerful all-inclusive Linux device suitable for embedded use, but running a normal Linux distro making it very easy to use with FPC and Lazarus.

Nice find!  Would be great if they had a version with a 10" touch display.

I work for years with industrial RasPi Displays from Maas.de They have other sizes also.

And one goals is, i can power the displays with industrial 24V supply. 24V is standard for machines.

The powerful fpcupdeluxe is for me working sinces ages on such devices (many THX to Alfred), but normal i use a crosscompiling enviroment. Because earlier versions of the Displays are not so powerful with older versions of the RasPi and compiling and debugging with Lazarus was a hard job :-)

For sure. To be honest: the current screen size (5") makes touch on a normal Linux not very practical. Small buttons, small font.
But its processing power and its completeness makes the reTerminal very worthwhile. I am able to do arm-linux debugging on my desk now.

These are also very good indeed. But reTerminal is much cheaper, has a lot of (fast) emmc and is powered by USB-C. But again, the reTerminal 5" screen-size is a bit small.
