Title: "New Secondary installation" option, what now.
Post by: karaba on April 05, 2014, 11:38:00 am
I just installed lazarus 1.2 with the the New Secondary installation checked it asked me for the config directory and created too, that was a pleasant surprise. Is it suppose to save this option somewhere and use it automatically when lazarus is started and if yes where? If not should I just add the --primary-config on the shortcut and editing the association commands my self?

The conf dir is saved in

   lazarus.cfg

in the same dir as the lazarus.exe. So it will be used automatically.

Personally, I change the gutter color in my 2nd. So I know which version I work with

does this make the --primary-config obsolete? just one last question are the windows of object inspector, messages etc tool windows or simple windows? they caption bar is way to big in win7/8 and I can't tell.

The option is not obsolete. The IDE just reads this one  option from the file. But it can still be used on its own. And if specified, it overrides the setting in the file.
So you can also run one and the same install, with different config.

The windowstyle I do not know. Better post a new thread, with a subject related 2 that question.  Or just open the lfm files and look yourself. (Yes you have to search them, so would I have to do)
