For those of you who don't know GamesFromScratch is a popular (128k subs) YouTube channel that concentrates on game development and they just did a feature on the Castle Games Engine (a Lazarus / FPC game engine)
Video = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqTgbRa5Bq0
CGE = https://castle-engine.io/
Go watch - the coverage is a bit basic but it's relatively fair (I'm sure others will have their own views on this)

Thanks, it was an interesting watch..
I assume the engine is using GL/DX interfacing etc ?
-
Yeah, OpenGL (causes issues on Mac)
Been using it for three months or so myself - thought the video might be of interest here
-
Thanks for the notice, it is exciting that people know the good applications that can be made with FPC-Lazarus! :)

Excellent! Added to the Wiki In the News (https://wiki.freepascal.org/In_the_News) page.

I read all the comments (115 at the time) - they were mostly a mix of well, humoured like 'Ahh, Pascal - last used it 20 years ago', quite a few nicely supportive of Lazarus / FPC with special attention (the audience are all into game dev) for CGE and general support for not being a Unity-centric channel.
There was only one really negative comment (breezed over that one)
The one that made me smile most was 'Can we have a Fortan Game Engine next, replied to with a No - Cobol...' :)
I was pleasantly surprised that the comments were so generally nice (the post can get extremely negative on YouTube) and the large number of reminiscences of using Pascal in the past was refreshing.

I always wonder about that. Even when I did a year ASP.NET with C# for a webapp, I still used Delphi and Lazarus for all kinds of small programming, so much easier.

Nice. I'll follow it because he said it would add video(s) about building a simple FPS game, that would be a great tutorial (I find the official tutorials a bit confusing %), though I've read the last one long time ago... :-[).
