Title: why was rebuilded lazarus.exe file size increased tenfold?
Post by: bd4kc on December 12, 2020, 02:58:57 pm
Why was it only a few dozen MB when it was first installed, and after the package was installed, the rebuilded lazarus.exe the file size to 260MB.

Oh! I also thought that the IDE built itself, and that it should make its own decisions.Forget that the ide itself can be debugged.

You can run the "strip" utility (which is in the fpc/bin folder) against the lazarus.exe to remove the debug info.

This is done to prevent illegal redistribution of Lazarus IDE using floppy disks  O:-)
