Title: Looking...
Post by: Rick on October 06, 2022, 08:43:05 pm
I've decided to write Delphi/Pascal code during the week and write books on the weekend. Are there any remote jobs out there where I can use Delphi and/or Lazarus?

Yes, please contact me if you’re skilled. I already have one person talking to me but not sure if it will work out.

I am a OKish lazarus dev myself so no beginners please.

A quick Google search revealed that...

I have tried upwork, the skill level there is seriously lacking. One guy took the project then disappeared. Two other said it’s difficult and they only do mobile dev. I didn’t entertain low quality profiles, perhaps I would’ve gotten lucky but I don’t think.

The response/quality here is much better not surprising.

And how's about freelancer.com ?
(I don't need a programmer job - only out of personal interest.)

Please don't post obfuscated links, its how spammers and other nasty types get innocent people like us here into trouble.

You can post images directly into the forum ....

Daffy, I responded to your email, but haven't heard back.

Because I get a mail sent failure error, I thought you blocked me.

Imagebb won’t let me see the direct link. I tried the forum upload but it won’t let me upload jpeg iPhone screenshots. Everything is annoyingly harder to do on phones

Have horrible experience with upwork too. It is a new sort of slavery. Newer more.

If anyone wants to get in touch with me about a Delphi/Lazarus opportunity. They need to know my phone number, so they can call me. What else can I do? Email is a SPAM magnet and resumes attract criminals. In today's world, things are tough.

Perhaps the Java-Apocalypse exists-(already)inside all programming/Languages.
(exampls- fight C# Vs Java).
Do you know other programming'Languages  which he can be Apocalypse-Level? :(
Nostradamus do not  tell us, about, but PC-Computer/s became
(Hardware, Software +Apocalypse)..
Do you know StarWars movie, turn the Computers. into Apocalypse-Level?
What do you think?

I don't know what you are talking about. I'm just looking for a Delphi/Lazarus opportunity. As far as the apocalypse goes... If it happens, it happens. Nothing I can do to change that.

Interesting...

In my 30+ year career as a technician then an engineer...

Through changes in the economy, relocating, going back to school, etc, I've gotten work...
1. Through direct and family friends.
2. Through recruiters.
3. By posting my resume on major job boards.
4. By replying to job offers on major job boards.
5. Through former co-workers.
6. Through staffing agencies...

Sometimes because the technology related questions for specific things I did not have much prior experience in, and hiring managers not always being confident I'd be able to learn those specifics, it would take a couple interviews where I'd fail some answers, look them up post-interview, then finally ace an upcoming interview with another company and finally get a job there.

A few times for various reasons I've been out of work for close to 6-10 months at a time. Was not always easy. I know many have had it rougher, so I'm not complaining.

However, I've not gotten a job via an online forum like this, but I'm not saying that would not be possible...
