What non-visual components existing for text storage?

What component exists mainly for storing text at design time, a non visual component with a Strings property, something like the SQL.Lines property? What component is preferred by FreePascal for that?

In glancing through the component palette I came across TStrHolder - is it designed with that in mind?

Is there some other non-component object that can do the same?
