I have done the LCL recompilation thing (both Smart linking options disabled, Debugging info enabled, Checks disabled, Optimizations level 1) and now the compilation takes 3 extra seconds - so I am back to 7 (even worst, 8) seconds.
Damn.

But I ahve also added about 2 new procedures (about 5 lines of code each) to my code.

If you want fast compilation, you should disable debug info.

I left debug info on only when I recompiled LCL. I have found on this forum that I need to have that thing on while recompiling Lazarus.
I think I will move on Windows. It is way much faster even on my antique laptop. When the program is almost ready I will move it back to Linux.
