Small project.. File Saving help

ive been doing things in small projects and for my next thing im using two things:XML and file saving. ive done XML before and have a ready made unit for handling it, but i dont know how to file save the way i want to.
You know when you save something in notepad and it comes up asking you waht to save it has, The extension name. i also want to be able to open files the same way.
How would i do that? thnx! :D

Do you mean a "save as dialog" look in dialogs section of IDE.
