questions about lazarus
« on: March 19, 2005, 02:09:52 pm »
Hi !

I tested for the first time Lazarus this week.

first impression : wow ! almost like delphi !

very nice product, but I have a few questions :
- why is the exe file so huge (at least 5.5 MB) ?
- can one disable the message "execution stopped" ?
- how can one download the whole help file from the web and include it in the lazarus' directory ?

thank you for your answers

Hi,

Q) why is the exe file so huge (at least 5.5 MB) ?

A) there are a lot of thread about file size of executable. Search please the board on 'file size' or 'executable'.
By default all debugger info is put into the exe file. You can reduce by using 'strip' (search the threads for how to do that) :)

Q) - can one disable the message "execution stopped" ?

A) Go to options|debugger options| In the middle of this window you'll find 'show message on stop'. Disable it.

Q) - how can one download the whole help file from the web and include it in the lazarus' directory ?

A) I don't know. Just d-load and save :{
