ActiveX project compiles, but on run External SIGSEGV error
« on: September 30, 2009, 09:51:35 pm »
Hi,
something like one year ago when I just started working there, I have written the Delphi codes for the following company http://www.activexperts.com.
The Tookits I have written the Delphi code, are ActiveX controls.
When I try to convert one project from Delphi to Lazarus (Win32_0.9.26 - FPC 2.2.2), it converts fine, the only error is that StdVCL could not be found, but I suppose, LCL will replace it.
When I compile the sample application, it compiles fine, but while running, after trying to enter some values, I get the famous External SIGSEGV error.

Suggestions?

Is it that ActiveX/COM controls are not fully supported? Is there something wrong in the code maybe (if somebody had a look at it).
I have tried with this sample:
ftp://ftp.activexperts-labs.com/Samples/AEmail/Borland%20Delphi/
obviously, the sample at that link is useless without installing (registering) the DLL.

Suggestions?

Try a newer version of FPC?
2.2.2 is more than a year old.
Lazarus + fpc 2.3.1 is available in the snapshots page:

Don't know if it helps in your case, but it's worth trying.
