What about database access ala dbExpress?
« on: December 22, 2003, 11:18:20 pm »
I would love to work on something for Lazarus / Free Pascal.  I am the author of dbExpress Plus.  Creating the interface and drivers to make all this work is over my head, but would be glad to help with components.  Something like TClientDataSet would be required too.

Did anything ever become of this?  One of my Delphi apps uses Borland's dbExpress to connect to MySQL.

Why do i have the feeling that dbExpress is not like it should be even in Delphi ?
DB access should be direct and not unidirectional, i know there is a way to get this with dbExpress but it's not the best way, i think IBX and Zeos approach are better.

Please tell me if i'm wrong ;)
