[SOLVED] Odd Lazarus version
« on: August 01, 2024, 09:16:02 pm »
How come that I install lazarus-project_3.4.0-0_amd64.deb from here, and when I run it shown info that it is Lazarus IDE 2.2.0  :o
Am I doing something wrong?

It is not working as it should, but maybe that is another issue, I will try to reslve it later.

Did you ever have that old version installed?
Did you use "startlazarus" to run?

If you install packages into the IDE, a new IDE is build and kept somewhere in ~/.lazarus/.....
That may be your 2.2.

If startlazarus finds this, it will use this over the freshly installed.

Normally you would then rebuild the installed, to get the packages installed again, and that would fix it.
But if your previous install is long ago, you may not have all the uptodate package, and need to amend your config.

Or clear the entire old config, including that old exe.

Thanks, that did it!
I uninstalled Lazarus and FPC, then I deleted the entire ~/.lazarus and /usr/lib/fpc/3.2.2 and it shows 3.4.

...
I had the version from the App Manager. Maybe it is possible that it contains such an old version  >:(
