The Timer function (ttimer) does not appear to be included in the ExtCtls

I have installed Lazarus 3 on the latest version of Ubuntu and for some reason the timer function in (System package) is apparently "Not found in ExtCtrls".

Was the function simply forgotten or is something else wrong?

Regards OlFred

Hello OlFred,
Welcome to the forum.

You mentioned "Timer function (ttimer)". TTimer is a control not function, or did you mean the other thing?

I just tested on my Lazarus 3.0 Ubuntu Mate, TTimer is indeed provided by ExtCtrls. How did you install the Lazarus? Did you download and install it from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus/files/

Maybe a re-installation can fix your problem. But before you do that, you can try to download this demo to see if it can be compiled:
https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,52780.msg389815.html#msg389815

If you have no problem compiling the demo code, that means your Lazarus is okay.
