I have downloaded the exe.
On win 10 64 bit when I press the “Browse” button nothing happens.
When I press the “Open” button and selected an image file (JOPEG about 3 MB), a message is shown for a very, very short time, then the app closes itself, an error sound is produced.
Later it occurred that when I open a small image file, it get open.

"Browse" works after you open an image. It lets you browse images in the same dir as the opened image.

Perhaps your JPEG is too big (resolution) or not a JPEG. There is also a chance there are other images in the same directory and while checking them the program finds a broken image.

Indeed, I expected to have a window with thumbnails, but there is something else.

It would be better if “Open” could show only supported files, now I get EXE, etc. shown too.

Maybe that is the case, I tried to open a small file from the same folder and the app disappeared. Then I opened a bigger file, which was the only one in the folder and it was shown okay.

Could you find which file is causing problems or just send me all the files in the problematic folder? It would help me find and fix the problem

No matter which image I open from my Downloads folder the error occurs. The folder contains 21 GB, so I cannot send it.
But here is (one of) the reason(s) for the issue: there is a zero-size PNG file in the folder.
I put only this file and a normal JPG in the same only foder and the app crashes after opening the JPG.

Thanks. The zero file crashes the app for me too.

Hi,
I downloaded the latest release, here is some feedback:

1. The issue which I described in my previous post is not observed.
2. When I press the “Open” the filter is only “All files”. It would be much-much better if there was a filter “All image files”.
3. Similarly, when I press “Browse”, all files are displayed in the list, not only the image files. I would prefer if I could have only the image files shown.
4. In the popup menu of the Brose list, “Next image” is enabled even when the last image is currently shown.
It would make sense, if "Next image" could go to the first one.
5. Behaviour for “Next image” and “Previous image” would better be selectable, so "Next image” could go to the first one, when the last one is reached (and vce versa for “Previous image”).
6. I miss the “Best fit” button in the toolbar.

Also, maybe you could take a look at the Image processing list of LazPaint - just drag and drop multiple files into LazPaint and from the dialogue select “Add files to the image processing list”.

Some more: I just decided to try to see if it opens files when called from the shell. It did.
But when I pressed DEL to delete the image, nothing happened.
I found that there is a “Delete file” in the Main Menu/ File.
But when I clicked it an “Access violation” error was shown.
