Forum slow
« on: April 20, 2024, 12:50:43 am »
There's been a noticeable slow down in forum responsiveness in the last 4 to 6 hours.

Anyone else noticed this by any chance ? (I haven't experience any slow down on other websites... this suggest it might be something Lazarus forum specific.)

Comments/observations welcome.

ETA:

Just as I post this, the response time seems to be noticeably better.
(FPC v3.0.4 and Lazarus 1.8.2) or (FPC v3.2.2 and Lazarus v3.2) on Windows 7 SP1 64bit.

I experience the same problem of slowness.

10 to 15 seconds to popup the login page.
25-30 seconds to actually login.
10-20 seconds for a preview of a post I am editing
around 5-10 seconds for a refresh of a page.
Clicking on a forum link takes about 15-20 seconds.
etc.etc,

and it has been for me this way the last couple of days (2/3).

Seems fixed, probably by the hosting company. I did not experience it.
If I smell bad code it usually is bad code and that includes my own code.

Things are indeed working a lot faster for me now as well (last couple of hours).

Remarkable that this behaviour seem to come and go in certain flows (and also does not seem to happen for everyone at the same time). Ah well  :)

One thing I’ve noticed is sometimes there is a delay in email notifications. I don’t know what is causing the delay.

It's morning here now and the forum is _noticeably_ more responsive. :)

Yes. And it had happened sporadically before. This is especially clear when you click on an attachment (image/screenshot) to enlarge it.

Has the form ever had denial of service attacks?

The forum slowed down again.  It's taking 10 to 15 seconds to load a page...

23 seconds after selecting login for the login window to appear and 41 seconds to actually login after entering credentials.

32 seconds to load edit form after selecting reply....

I do not even attempt to measure the preview and actual post time as session time-out is unavoidable. I call it quits for today.

I see a shiteload of "performing TLS handshaking" messages floating by.

Perhaps something changed that I need to update (though I do get these issues on a semi-rolling distro) ?

Hi
Grrrr.... yup, been *crawling* for 15 hours or so  >:D
@TRon: Maybe you're on to something here... I too am on a rolling release OS, so perhaps it's time to roll a bit... :D
It's driving me nuts, more than I usually am  :P

Feeling it here at the moment. It takes 10-30 seconds for a response, sometimes it times out. But it does work.
