LazPaint - editing text

Hello. I've been learning to use LazPaint and one thing that nags me is that I can't edit text. I mean, I add text and I can do a lot with it while I am in that initial editing state. As soon as I click outside of the editing area and the text "sticks" I can no longer select and change it unless I press Ctrl+z to lose it all and start it all over again. Is that by design or am I doing something wrong?

You did nothing wrong, you just used the wrong tool.

LazPaint is graphics editing tool that offer only basic features. The ability to edit added texts is an unimplemented feature.

If you need software that allow you to modify entered texts, you should choose the more feature-rich alternatives. More feature-rich means less beginner-friendly. One of the well-known one is Adobe Photoshop. If you want a free one, try GIMP or Krita. Krita has more features for vector editing.

You can 'minimize' that issue by adding a new layer before adding new texts. If you don't like the result, what you need to do are delete the layer, add a new one and then re-adding new text.

To add a new layer, click the blank paper icon, which is located near the bottom-right corner.

Then, click on the text with the left mouse button, and you'll be able to modify it.
