Display Software License - Form
« on: December 11, 2023, 01:46:01 pm »
Would anyone recommend a component for a form for a software license agreement.  Would you just use a TMemo component?  My license agreement for the use of this software by anyone called END USER LICENSE will be maybe 75 lines of text.  Thanks & Merry Christmas!

Hi
I just use a TMemo set to ReadOnly  ;)
But mind you, I'm a lazy Bas***d  :D
Could be someone out there with a better idea  ;)
Regards Benny
If it ain't broke, don't fix it ;)
PCLinuxOS(rolling release) 64bit -> KDE5 -> FPC 3.2.2 -> Lazarus 2.2.6 up until Jan 2024 from then on it's: KDE5/QT5 -> FPC 3.3.1 -> Lazarus 3.0

Either use the TIpHtmlPanel on a form with some buttons at the buttom.

Or use a TRichMemo type component and create a colorful text.

Yup, thanks guys!  I started earlier using just the TMemo but will fool around with the TRichMemo with psychedelic text.

Use a prloaded TMemo. The fewer addons the better, particularly for something important but cosmetically-undemanding like this.

Don't, under any circumstances, be tempted to use a web browser or something that the desktop environment maps to a browser or to something heavyweight like LibreOffice.

Thanks Mark and everyone. I agree, no need for TRichMemo because I'm just displaying the license to use the software. But will install TRichMemo just in case I need it for something! Always good to have a different size screwdriver.
