Besides the not so obvious reason of having its own custom UI displayed at runtime, what other reasons are there for adding $(LCLWidgetType) to the output path of  projects and packages, in addition to the usual $(TargetCPU)-$(TargetOS)

Are there some guides that discuss these at length?

These issues have cause me quite a few problems in the past.
Lazarus 3.0/FPC 3.2.2
