GTK2 app takes 10 seconds to close

Gtk2 app took 20+ seconds to start and shows empty window. I gave to user this wiki info:

It solved the slow start!
But, app still waits 10 seconds on closing.
Right before it finally closes it logs this:

and here I was in the thinking stage of tooling up a fast PC for linux!, should I stay away at least for another year?

That error is hard to reproduce (I cannot), so use the Linux before you see that error.
