download 32 bit windows

After downloading the 32 bit windows version, the downloaded exe file has size 0.
Obviously it can not execute.

I've tried it several times same thing every time.

What am I doing wrong?

Do you download with your browser, and if so with /what browser/ on /what platform/. Have you tried wget or another downloader ?

The win32 versions of Free Pascal (on sourceforge) are all .exe files so there isn't (or at least shouldn't) be an archiver to be be concerned about. Hence my questions.

Check your antivirus software. I have had such cases because the antivirus blocked the download.

Downloaded from lazarus home page then download button. Using FireFox. Since lazarus is Delphi like pascal, did not think had to mention pascal. The win 32.exe file had size 0 bytes and is not in an archive file, but in my download directory on the C: drive.

Today successfully downloaded 32 bit version on my work 64 bit computer, however I have doubts that this will run under 32 bit home computer. Will check it tonight.  Thanks for your responses.

You can either download Lazarus and/or Free Pascal (or a combined package) and there are several places from where you can download that. Even the (official) home-page itself can re-direct you to different websites. In such cases it is important to know where the download link originates from (it might be a particular hosting server that has issues).

Firefox usually do not give me any errors, though I am running on Linux. You can check the download status in Firefox to see if the download succeeded successful or not.

If you are certain you downloaded the 32-bit version of Lazarus then that should be able to run on both your 64-bit and 32-bit machine.

Well Firefox should in the download list tell you the file size => So you can check if it is an issue with the server, or something on your PC.

Sourceforge has mirrors, and they maybe when you come from your home PC you get to a mirror that has an issue?
There is a "Problems downloading" button, and you can choose a different mirror.


If you do get a file, then you can check its integrity by checksum https://www.lazarus-ide.org/index.php?page=checksums
And the file you downloaded, you can upload to something like virustotal which will give you a checksum.
Or you can use Powershell.
